Dear Interested Party:

Consistent with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) is beginning the process of preparing an invasive weed environmental assessment (EA) and integrated management plan to analyze management strategies for invasive weeds on the Umatilla Indian Reservation. The purpose of NEPA and this letter is to provide Umatilla Indian Reservation (UIR) residents the opportunity to participate in the development of the EA and integrated management plan. CTUIR is requesting comments to assist us with defining issues and appropriate alternatives.

Your comments will be helpful in developing or refining the proposed action and alternatives. Comments that would be most useful are those stating site specific concerns and those that can help us develop treatments that would be responsive to our goals to control, contain, or eradicate invasive plants. Written comments should be submitted to CTUIR-Department of Natural Resources, Range Ag and Forestry Program 46411 Timine Way Pendleton, OR 97801. You may also send comments electronically to CTUIR_Invasives@ctuir.org ,please indicate "Weed EA" on the subject line. To be most helpful, please submit comments by September 15th, 2017, when we will begin drafting the EA.
