Carbon Crafternoons with FFPP April 24th
Posted in: Natural Resources - Community Event
First Foods Policy Program is hosting our limited series Carbon Crafternoons for Spring 2026!
FFPP will be hosting (coffee, tea, and maybe some snacks) a space for our Tribal community and staff to tune into our broadcast of footage from last fall’s Carbon & Culture Symposium before we post them to our Climate Adaptation Youtube Channel and discuss opportunities and concerns for carbon mitigation efforts in our region. We will host these on Friday afternoons 1:30 to 3:30 PM at the Nixyaawii Governance Center (NGC) and will be informal, drop in, and with a virtual attendance option, link below. Attendees are encouraged to bring a (transportable) craft with them that they would like to work on during the broadcast! Please note FFPP will not be providing crafting supplies, so please bring everything you would need to work on your craft with us. Crafts are not required for anyone who may want to listen and discuss with us.
Our tentative Crafternoon schedule is below:
- Friday April 24th in NGC Conf. Rm 101 Walla Walla | Nciwana
Viewing: C&CS Lands and Systems Lecture Session with Global Ocean Health, Oregon Dept of Environmental Quality, Nature Conservancy, and Eastern Oregon Legacy Lands - Friday May 8th in NGC Conf. Rm 101 Walla Walla | Nciwana
Viewing: C&CS Hot Topics Lecture Session with Oregon Dept of Geology and Mineral Industries (DOGAMI) and Indigenous Environmental Network (IEN)
Please reach out to Colleen Sanders (colleensanders@ctuir.org, 541.429.7247) if you have questions or want to talk about carbon mitigation efforts with FFPP.
