First Foods Policy Program and the Nixyaawii, Don't Throw It Away! Project are hosting various events for the Tribal community and regional partners to learn more about the outcomes of the project, as well as build skills and knowledge related to composting, recycling, repair and reuse, and other approaches to reducing waste created by our community. Many of these events are open to everyone, and some require registration so we can make sure participants are compensated for their time. The Nixyaawii, Don’t Throw It Away! Project welcomes everyone to our event on Saturday November 16th from 10 AM to Noon at the Nixyaawii (Mission) Longhouse! This event will include a free Abalone Shell Earring workshop hosted by DeArcie Abraham with Biowaste Technology, register with FirstFoods@CTUIR.org to make sure there are enough supplies!
