CTUIR Longhouse Users Survey To Identify Improvement Needs
The year 2028 will mark the 50th anniversary of the opening of the CTUIR Longhouse!
In anticipation of this milestone, the CTUIR wants to understand how Tribal membership and community members perceive the current conditions of the Longhouse and what changes they would like to see in the future. We would like to assess the needs and goals of the Tribal community, compare them to the current capacities of the Longhouse, and develop plans for managing the Longhouse and community uses into the future.
The goal of our survey is to understand the community’s perceptions about the adequacy, maintenance, and potential improvement needs of the Longhouse. Responses will inform CTUIR Public Works’ efforts to seek funding and implement necessary changes to meet the needs of the Tribal community. The survey attempts to include major types of use and facility components that do or do not support those uses.
When completing the survey, please consider associated facility infrastructure, such as parking, lighting, accessibility for individuals with disabilities, vendor spaces, the surrounding grounds, and any additional ideas you may have. The final survey question will provide you with the opportunity to identify issues we may have overlooked. The survey will be open for three weeks and will be published for community review within 60 days after it closes.
This survey will gather your feedback on the following uses and features:
- Religious services
- Feasts/Meals
- Funerary Services
- Memorials/Namings
- Celebrations/Pow Wows/Weddings
- Cultural Nights/General Community Events
- Sound system
- Audience
- Supporting facilities and surrounding grounds
- What did we miss? Open suggestion space.
Remember, each question addresses the current condition of the Longhouse.
Where you can type text responses, responses are limited to 100 or 250 words as noted.
You can probably complete this survey in about 15 minutes or less but take as much time as you need. Each survey question is optional and may be skipped if you prefer.
