The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation’s (CTUIR) Housing Department recently finished renovating a playground on Walla Walla Court.
Tanner Michael, CTUIR Housing Department maintenance manager, said the 60-foot-by-40-foot area contains a new play structure, swing, climbing and jumping equipment to encourage children to be more active.
He said a local contractor, the Housing Department and the CTUIR Building Our Life Skills, Training and Employment Readiness or BOLSTER program finished replacing old equipment at the playground on Dec. 29.
The playground is open to all ages at all hours and will be maintained by the Housing Department.
Planning and procurement of the playground started in 2022, and Northwest Playground Equipment provided the funding.
