MISSION – Visitors can save up to 40% off items during the Tamástslikt Culture Institute (TCI) Museum Store’s anniversary sale set for Thursday, Aug. 8 to Saturday, Aug. 10.
“It is 40% off everything in the store at Tamástslikt,” Randall Melton, TCI assistant director of operations, said. “We have this sale every August to coincide with the anniversary of the building opening to the public on Aug. 1, 1998.”
The 40% discount is available to the public but cannot be combined with other offers or discounts.
The Museum Store, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., features books, toys, Pendleton Wool blankets and apparel, handcrafted Native American jewelry and art, CDs and more.
For more information about the anniversary sale, call 541-429-7700 or email shop@tamastslikt.org.
Located at 47106 Wildhorse Blvd., TCI is the only museum on the Oregon Trail that tells the story of western expansionism from a tribal point of view. It celebrates the customs and practices of the Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla tribes through interactive displays, special events and informative programming.
While visiting TCI, enjoy delicious lunches and huckleberry treats from the Kinship Café as you view the Blue Mountains, rolling wheatfields and bucolic sky. The Kinship Café is open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. For orders, call 541-429-7702.
The Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation is comprised of the Cayuse, Umatilla and Walla Walla Tribes, and formed under the Treaty of 1855 at the Walla Walla Valley, 12 Stat. 945. In 1949, the Tribes adopted a constitutional form of government to protect, preserve and enhance the reserved treaty rights guaranteed under federal law.
