Mission Statement

To provide Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation culturally appropriate support services to victims of intimate partner violence, sexual violence, rape, elder abuse, teen dating violence, stalking, and human trafficking. We strive to maintain the sovereignty of individuals by eliminating all forms of oppression while facilitating honor and respect through direct services, systems, and social change.

Family Violence Services works to accomplish its mission of serving those impacted by violence and their families by:

  • Criminally we understand Tribal, State, and Federal systems and their process. Reviewing and recommending enhancements of Tribal Code and systems policy.
  • Socially addressing the needs for victims and witnesses by way of education, training, referrals, and engagement. Offenders are also offered the open for self-monitoring and re-education via batterer’s re-education intervention program.
  • Tribally we strive to learn and incorporate old-time, pre-1842 values, beliefs, and customs for community safety and enhancing a Sovereign Nation by aiding and re-educating sovereign individuals.
