Tribal Prosecutor
Mission Statement:
Promote public safety and offender rehabilitation by prosecuting criminal offenders and educating law enforcement, decision makers and the public on upholding the tribal criminal code; assist DCFS through advice and representation in court in maintaining safe homes for children.

The Office of the Prosecutor will:
- Assist with tribal efforts to protect and provide services to children, families and veterans.
- Provide general legal assistance to the Department of Public Safety
- File criminal complaints against people alleged to have committed crimes and pursue cases to conclusion.
- Prosecute juvenile offenders with the goal of reforming their conduct.
- Enforce the tribe’s civil regulations against people who violate them.
- Coordinate efforts with the other departments and programs of the tribal government, such as the Tribal police, Family Violence Services, the Juvenile Program and DCFS.
- Coordinate efforts with other jurisdictions, such as the U.S. attorney for Oregon, The Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office, the FBI, the Oregon State Police, Pendleton Police Department, and the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Department.

MISSION STATEMENT:
The Tribal Prosecutor Victim and Witness Assistant advocates for victims and witnesses of crime by offering a trauma informed approach to promote victim rights, safety, healing and justice throughout the CTUIR community.
VISION:
The Victim and Witness Assistant’s office seeks to empower victims of traumatic circumstances with emotional and/or practical support during the criminal justice process and provide meaningful access to a variety of services in the community.

The Victim and Witness Assistant primarily works with victims of crime once charges have been filed by the prosecutor. Services provided for victims and witnesses may include:
- Provide trauma informed, culturally appropriate crisis intervention
- Support victims of crime through the criminal justice process, this includes victim notification of victim rights, court dates, assistance with protection orders, restitution, crime victim compensation and post-conviction advocacy.
- Support all victims of crime by maintaining positive and meaningful relationships with community partners for referrals and resources to better serve victims.
- Support all victims of crime by collaborating with other tribal, federal and local law enforcement agencies, including UTPD, Pendleton Police Department, the FBI, and U.S. Attorney’s Office.
- Collaborate with tribal and community partners to deliver meaningful access to services including: The Department of Children and Family Services, Family Violence Services, Tribal Court Probation and Parole, Family Engagement, Guardian Care Center, Domestic Violence Services, and the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.
