July Grounds Re-Visioning Plans for Community Consideration

The July Grounds Visioning Committee is asking for community feedback on three proposed conceptual plans to guide the future of the July Grounds.  These plans provide a roadmap for Tribal staff and leadership to ensure the July Grounds reflect community desires, and helps guide funding and partnerships that can lead to future facilities within July Grounds area.

Following an earlier survey in August 2020 which asked the community what they wanted to see in the July Grounds, a group of volunteers worked with BBT Architects to create three conceptual plans.  Each conceptual plan represents the input received from the earlier survey, and includes amenities and gathering spaces such as:

• Arbor
• Amphitheater
• Designated teepee camping
• Picnic areas
• Veterans' Center
• Sweat lodge

• Pool & recreation center
• Athletic fields
• Basketball courts
• Skate park
• Walking paths
• Playground

To view the proposed conceptual plans and provide your feedback, please complete this survey.  Community members are also invited to submit their own design using the blank July Grounds site plan below.  Once completed, please return it to the Tribal Planning Office at the Nixyaáwii Governance Center, or take a picture and e-mail it to us at planning@ctuir.org.  Tribal members without internet access can also provide feedback by calling the Tribal Planning Office at 541-276-3099.
