Tribal sovereignty is the foundation of this complex and beautiful indigenous food system, and the strength of sovereignty upholds the power of this tribal nation to determine its own path forward into the future. Protection of the rights of Indigenous People have more power to conserve and steward their homelands to preserve biodiversity, perpetuate resilient land management practices, and practice reciprocity to First Foods and lands that have brought prosperity since time immemorial.
